The Auxiliary to the Texas Veterinary Medical Association was formed in 1923 to provide additional support for the association.
The Auxiliary to TVMA was formed in 1923 to provide additional support for TVMA. At the time, there were no practicing women veterinarians in Texas, and the new organization was named the Women’s Auxiliary and consisted solely of the wives of TVMA-member veterinarians. In 1953 the organization was renamed the Women’s Auxiliary to the Texas Veterinary Medical Association.
But today, now that most of the graduating students from the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine are women, the organization is named the Auxiliary to the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and welcomes spouses of either gender.

Board members:
These Auxiliary members work to promote veterinary medicine through various activities. Veterinarians pay an extra $40 for Auxiliary dues when they pay their annual TVMA membership dues.
