I’ve Fallen and I Can’t Get Up: Tips for Quickly Assessing and Treating the patient with Acute Collapse
Speaker: Wendy Blount, DVM (Nacogdoches, TX)

Perioperative Pain Management and Immediate Postoperative Rehabilitation in the Small Animal Orthopedic Patient
Speaker: Rick Wall, DVM (The Woodlands, TX)
Management of pain in the orthopedic patient begins prior to the surgical procedure and continues for some time afterwards. The use of local and regional anesthesia, epidurals and continuous rate pain infusions have greatly aided in addressing orthopedic pain. The utilization of rehabilitation techniques beginning immediately following surgery aides in the management of pain by controlling inflammation brought about by the trauma of surgery.
