Continuing Education is an integral part of TVMA's mission to support those that practice the art and science of veterinary medicine in Texas. TVMA delivers practical, affordable continuing education for veterinarians. Recognizing the importance of in-state educational opportunities for practitioners, TVMA holds an annual conference offering extensive labs and exhibits, in a setting that allows attendees to renew old relationships with Texas colleagues.
Southwest Veterinary Symposium:
The Southwest Veterinary Symposium (SWVS) is a joint venture combining the efforts of the Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas VMAs to provide exceptional continuing education for veterinary science in our region and for the rest of the nation. The annual symposium is held each fall in the Southwest and includes continuing education, a tradeshow, inter-active labs and social activities.
TVMA Annual Conference:
Organized by TVMA, this meeting is usually held in Austin or College Station. The conference offers innovative CE opportunities and great social events. The meeting’s regional setting makes it ideal for Texas practitioners.
Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice Symposium:
TAVP hosts two meetings a year, offering the best in continuing education and social events for members.
TVMA Center for Veterinary Economics:
Addressing financial and organizational issues unique to the veterinary profession, the TVMA Center for Veterinary Economics sponsors a series of seminars that will focus on making practitioners and their staff more business-savvy.
