TVMA vigilantly monitors the Texas legislature and state regulatory agencies to ensure that the interests of the veterinary profession, as well as the public and their animals, are well protected. When issues of concern arise, TVMA, working in conjunction with its thousands of members across the State, acts quickly and effectively to address such matters.
TVMA's Department of Government Relations is made of up of several important components.
Legislative:
TVMA actively particpates in the legislative process, pursuing legislation that matters most to the veterinary profession.
Agencies:
Several state agencies play a signifcant role in the practice of veterinary medicine. TVMA monitors each of these agencies and serves as the profession's advocate.
Veterinary Political Action Committee (VPAC):
The political arm of TVMA, VPAC is the voice of veterinary medicine at the state capitol.
