TVMA Seeks Director of Finance

Description
The Texas Veterinary Medical Association is looking for an organized, detail-oriented individual to join our team. The Director of Finance will provide overall financial management services for TVMA and its related entities. Reporting to the Treasurer and Executive Director, the Director of Finance will direct the organization’s day-to-day accounting practices; banking, auditing and investment management relationships; and the maintenance of its fiscal records. The Director of Finance will also recommend and implement internal policies and procedures on all accounting, auditing, investments and cash management, accounting information systems, and internal controls of the organization.

The Director of Finance also administers building maintenance oversight and human resources, attends meetings of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee as required for financial reporting, supervises staff budget preparation and facilitates the Investment Board and Budget & Finance Committee meetings.

Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
At least five years of accounting and financial management experience.
Experience in setting, managing and meeting budget targets.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Relevant work experience in a 501(c)(6) environment a plus.
