VETERINARY POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE

Taking Action

The Veterinary Political Action Committee (VPAC) helps advance the legislative goals of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) and assists in its mission to preserve, promote and protect the veterinary medical profession and to advance animal health for the well-being of humans and animals.

VPAC MAGNIFIES THE VOICE OF THE VETERINARY PROFESSION IN MANY WAYS INCLUDING

  • Provides targeted financial support to candidates seeking election to the Texas House, Senate or other state elected officials who are supportive of the veterinary profession. This allows veterinarians to magnify their individual voices and helps to ensure access to those elected officials. This access opens doors and nurtures good working relationships thus creating a favorable and profitable business climate for the highly regulated veterinary profession. Politicians recognize and respect this professional unity.
  • Expands access to elected officials and allows veterinarians to voice their concerns and objectives on bills before they enter the legislative process. This is more effective than simply reacting to bills well on their way to becoming law.
  • Veterinarians are governed by many different regulatory agencies whose decisions can directly impact their practice. Your contribution to VPAC helps the Government Relations Department monitor, research and analyze proposed state regulatory actions and trends and helps ensure that veterinarians have input into these decisions.
