The Buck-A-Year plan in an annual gift campaign that every veterinarian can afford. It’s an easy way to give something back to the profession and to help colleagues and clients for years to come. Contributions made to the Buck-A-Year program fund grants to Texas A&M’s Veterinary Medical Scientist Research Training Program (VMSRTP). This vital research program ensures that veterinary students will continue to be introduced to research and the benefits research has on the profession and your practice.

The guidelines of the Buck-A-Year program are quite simple:

Take the number of years since you received your DVM and contribute that amount to become a bronze sponsor. Multiply that number by two to become a silver sponsor, by three to become a gold sponsor, and by five to become a platinum sponsor. Because the amount you contribute gradually increases over the time, this is the perfect program to begin early in your career. Recent graduates are busy establishing themselves and paying off student loans, so they often are not able to give more than a few dollars to any one charity. By giving through the Buck-A-Year program, the amount you donate increases as your income increases.

Every year, the VMSRTP funding from TVMF will be made in the name of the veterinary graduating class that contributes the most to TVMF’s Buck-A-Year program from July through June of the following year.

Financial contributions are essential to the continued growth and expansion of the TVMF and its mission. Keep in mind that the size of your gift is not as important as regular donations. Your investment will bear dividends for the profession for years to come. For more information or a brochure, contact the Foundation office at 512/452-4224.
