The Texas Department of State Health Services’ Oral Rabies Vaccination Program (ORVP) ( has been approved for DVMs and LVTs by the Texas State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners for up to 5 hours of CE on an hour-per-hour basis (sign-in required upon arrival and departure from site). Attendance at the Texas 2018 ORVP is available in Zapata (Jan. 10-12), Del Rio (Jan. 14-18), and Alpine (Jan. 20-22). Please note that all dates are approximate; they are contingent upon weather conditions at each location. TVMA’s Level I CVA training program is designed to teach veterinary assistants the essential skills and knowledge needed to become effective contributors to the veterinary team. This workshop is based on the material offered in the CVA Level I training manual and will give your team members a knowledge-based foundation to go along with their technical skills.

Our talented and experienced professional instructor will teach the following topics: Medical Terminology, Species and Breeds, Anatomical Directions, Client Relations, Safety, Kennel Maintenance, Veterinary Lab Procedures, General Grooming, Patient Restraint Techniques, Laboratory Skills, Cleaning and Chemical Handling, Surgical Preparation and Assistance, Animal Nursing and Veterinary Pharmacy and Pharmacology.
